Statement Mono Power Amplifier by Naim Audio

Statement by Naim Audio

Statement Mono Power Amplifier – leaping forward in technology and design.

The series comprises the NAC S1 preamplifier and NAP S1 mono power amplifiers. The imposing monolithic structure with its stark silhouette is offset by the organic sculptural flow of the heat sink and the beautifully lit volume control and central divide.

This duality in the design reflects how the pursuit of technical brilliance is grounded in the abstract human experience of music.

The noisy power supply is housed in the base and sensitive electronics are nestled above. Each section is divided by an acrylic centre-piece that blocks interaction. Top section electronics are separated further still, with internal chambers isolating individual stages.

The Statement NAP S1 features a new bridged dual design with zero global feedback. The two stages are physically separated to optimise the amplifier circuit with the delicate voltage stage at the very top of the power amplifier.

Every component, curve and connection in Statement demanded new levels of engineering and tolerance. The distinctive ‘wave’ heat sinks begin life as a solid billet of untreated aluminium, which is cut to size and machined to achieve the curved profile.

Levitation – Flattening Red and Blue

Levitation – Flattening Red and Blue & Blurred Violet

Life is an order of energy. In the artwork space, an order of energy is created, just like life.

The sphere is not supported by anything. Nevertheless, through the order of energy, the sphere transcends the concept of mass: it levitates in the space between the floor and ceiling, floating up and down.

When a person taps the sphere, it floats away, falls to the ground, and rolls away.

But if there is no external interference, it will slowly rise into the air again, as though restoring itself to its original state. The sphere also appears to shift between two and three dimensions.

The existence of life can be thought of as a Supernature Phenomenon that defies the laws of physics.

When an order of energy is created within the artwork space, the sphere transcends universal gravitation, violating physics as life does.

The sphere slowly levitates, becomes suspended in the middle of the space, and floats up and down in the air.

When a person views the Supernature Phenomenon before them, it causes their perception to change, thus leading to a new cognitive experience that differs from that of everyday life.

This artwork aims to explore changes in cognition.

Incredible Car Design Mercedes Benz the Vision AVTR

Incredible Car Design by Mercedes Benz – The Vision AVTR

This concept vehicle embodies the vision of Mercedes-Benz designers, engineers and trend researchers for mobility in the distant future.

With its four high-performance and near-wheel-built electric motors, the VISION AVTR embodies a particularly agile implementation of the vision of a dynamic luxury saloon.

Due to the possibility to drive the front and rear axles simultaneously or in opposite ways, the VISION AVTR can move sideways by approx. 30 degrees, in contrast to conventional vehicles.

The VISION AVTR was designed in line with its innovative electric drive. This is based on a particularly powerful and compact high-voltage battery.

For the first time, the revolutionary battery technology is based on graphene-based organic cell chemistry and thus completely eliminates rare, toxic and expensive earths such as metals.

Electromobility thus becomes independent of fossil resources. An absolute revolution is also the recyclability by composting, which is 100% recyclable due to the materiality.

As a result, Mercedes-Benz underlines the high relevance of a future circular economy in the raw materials sector.

In addition to an exponentially high energy density – compared to today’s battery systems with up to 1,200 Wh/litre – the technology also impresses with its exceptional fast charging capability via automated, conductive charging technology.

This means that the battery will be fully recharging in less than 15 minutes. With a capacity of around 110 kWh, the VISION AVTR enables an electric range of more than 700 kilometres.

By recuperating during roll-out and braking, the high-voltage battery can be recharged with a higher efficiency than established systems while driving and thus contributes to the high energy efficiency of the overall system.

For the first time, Mercedes-Benz has worked with a completely new design approach in the design of the VISION AVTR.

The holistic concept combines the design disciplines interior, exterior and UX from the first sketch. Man and human perception are the starting point of a design process from the inside out.

The design process begins with the experience of the passengers and consciously focuses on the perception and needs of the passengers. The goal was to create a car that prolongs the perception of its passengers.

It was also a matter of creating an immersive experience space in which passengers connect with each other, with the vehicle and the surrounding area in a unique way.

The first interaction in the interior between man and vehicle happens completely intuitively via the control unit: by placing the hand on the centre console, the interior comes to life and the vehicle recognises the driver by his breathing.

This is made visible on the instrument panel and on the user’s hand. The VISION AVTR thus establishes a biometric connection with the driver and increases his awareness of the environment.

The visual connection between passengers and the outside world is created by the curved display module, which replaces a conventional dashboard.

The outside world around the vehicle and the surrounding area is shown in real-time 3D graphics and at the same time shows what is happening on the road in front of the vehicle.

Combined with energy lines, these detailed real-time images bring the interior to life and allow passengers to discover and interact with the environment in a natural way with different views of the outside world.

Stanley Kubrick a Master in Visual Storytelling

Written by SuperAdministrator on 26. January 2022. Posted in Movies.

Stanley Kubrick a Master in Visual Storytelling.

Stanley Kubrick is frequently cited as one of the greatest filmmakers in cinematic history.

His films are noted for their realism, dark humor, unique cinematography, extensive set designs, and evocative use of music.

2001: A Space Odyssey

A dislike of the Hollywood industry prompted Kubrick to move to the United Kingdom in 1961, where he did his writing, research, editing, and management of production details.

This allowed him to have almost complete artistic control over his films.

Next up is a portrait of THE INDEX favourite Kubrick movies.

Paths of Glory

Paths of Glory is a 1957 American anti-war film co-written and directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the novel of the same name by Humphrey Cobb.

Set during World War I, the film stars Kirk Douglas as Colonel Dax, the commanding officer of French soldiers who refuse to continue a suicidal attack, after which Dax attempts to defend them against charges of cowardice in a court-martial.

Movie Still by Filmgrab

General Georges Broulard, a member of the French General Staff, asks his subordinate, the ambitious General Mireau, to take a well-defended German position called the “Anthill”.

Mireau initially refuses, citing the impossibility of success, but when Broulard mentions a potential promotion, Mireau quickly convinces himself the attack will succeed.

Movie Still by Filmgrab

The attack on the Anthill is a failure. Dax leads the first wave of soldiers over the top into no man’s land under heavy fire.

None of the men reach the German trenches, and B Company refuses to leave their own trench after seeing the first wave sustain heavy casualties.

Movie Still by Filmgrab

Mireau, enraged, orders his artillery to open fire on them to force them onto the battlefield. The artillery commander refuses to fire without written confirmation of the order.

Movie Still by Filmgrab

At a meeting with Broulard and Dax, to deflect blame for the attack’s failure, Mireau decides to court martial the soldiers for cowardice.

Movie Still by Filmgrab

Dax, who was a criminal defense lawyer in civilian life, volunteers to defend the men at their court-martial. The trial however, is a farce.

There is no formal written indictment, a court stenographer is not present, and the court refuses to admit evidence that would support acquittal.

In his closing statement, Dax denounces the proceedings:

“Gentlemen of the court, to find these men guilty would be a crime to haunt each of you till the day you die.”

Nonetheless, the three are sentenced to death.

After the execution, some of Dax’s soldiers are carousing at an inn. They become more subdued as they listen to a captive German girl sing a sentimental folk song.

Dax decides to leave without informing the men that they have been ordered to return to the front.

His face hardens as he returns to his quarters.

The film was nominated for and managed to gain several international awards and accolades as it garnered many positive reviews thus helping to establish Kubrick’s already growing reputation.

It won the prestigious Grand Prix of the Belgian Film Critics Association.

The film holds a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 61 reviews and an average rating of 9.00/10.

The site’s critical consensus reads: “Paths of Glory is a transcendentally humane war movie from Stanley Kubrick, with impressive, protracted battle sequences and a knock-out ending”.

On Metacritic, the film has a score of 90 out of 100 based on reviews from 18 critics, indicating “universal acclaim”.

The unbroken Fascination of Cyberpunk

A city immersed in endless rain. The eternal night, interrupted by the colourful play of glistening neon lights, while cars are flying through the canyons of a futuristic skyline.

What is it, that makes this typical Cyberpunk premise so intriguing, that it still draws unbroken attention?

Cyberpunk Art

Blade Runner by Christopher Shy

In a dystopian futuristic setting Cyberpunk portrays disconnected humans, living with futuristic technological and scientific achievements, such as artificial intelligence and cybernetics, juxtaposed with societal collapse or decay.

Cyberpunk is rooted in the New Wave science fiction movement of the 1960s and 1970s, when writers like Philip K. Dick, Michael Moorcock, Roger Zelazny, John Brunner and others examined the impact of drug culture, technology, and the sexual revolution.

Street upshot by Jugoslav Stankin

Comics exploring cyberpunk themes began appearing in 1977. Released in 1984, William Gibson’s influential debut novel Neuromancer helped solidify cyberpunk as a genre, drawing influence from punk subculture and early hacker culture.

Genre defining films include Ridley Scott’s Masterpiece Blade Runner (1982), The Matrix trilogy (1999–2003) and the original Ghost in the Shell anime (1995) by Mamoru Oshii were some of the most successful cyberpunk films.

The award winning and best selling game Cyberpunk 2077 is an action role-playing video game. Within twelve hours after its release, the game had over one million concurrent players on Steam.

The story takes place in Night City, an open world set in the Cyberpunk universe.

Cyberpunk plots often center on conflict among artificial intelligences, hackers, and megacorporations, and tend to be set in a near-future Earth.

Much of the genre’s atmosphere echoes film noir, and written works in the genre often use techniques from hardboiled detective fiction.

Cyberpunk Art

BLUE NOVA by Masashi Imagawa

Crime writers like Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler invented the anti hero as a new type of protagonist: a lonely and cynical but compassionate hero in a world where disloyalty is ubiquitous.

Cyberpunk Art

Cyberpunk – the underground, by Eddie Del Rio

The genre’s vision of a troubled future often features a nihilistic underground side of an electronic society.

Settings are dystopias with corruption and artificial reality, where giant corporations have replaced governments as centers of political, economic, and even military power.

Cyberpunk Art

Collateral Damage by Dangiuz

Cyberpunk is often set in urbanized, artificial landscapes with an abundance of brightly glowing neon lights and giant video billboards reflecting the major influence of Japan on the genre.

Cyberpunk Art

No turning back by Dangiuz

Many cyberpunk protagonists are manipulated, placed in situations where they have little or no choice.

They were marginalized, alienated loners who lived on the edge of society.
