Welcome To The Index!

I’m incredibly proud to introduce The Index, a new independent publication covering technology, culture, new media, and everything in between.

The theme of 2026 for me has been collaboration.

I’ve always believed the best things happen when you bring together people who are exceptional at what they do, give them room to shine, and create something none of us could have built alone. That’s where the magic happens.

Eight months ago, I started putting that belief into practice with Wall Collective. Building the collective and working alongside some of the best PR and media experts I know has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

But because I apparently cannot go very long without giving myself a new challenge, I also wanted to create something on the other side of the equation: a place to tell great stories.

I’ve wanted to build something with my dear friend Jeff Benson for years. I’ve admired his work at Decrypt, Front Office Sports, and beyond, and after one conversation about this idea, I knew he was the person I wanted leading The Index as editor-in-chief.

What started as a passion project quickly became much bigger.

The Index is for stories we think deserve to exist. Stories that are curious, unexpected, sometimes a little weird, and willing to peel back another layer. We’re bringing together journalists, experts, and contributors with distinct points of view to tell them.

Our first four stories are:

And we’re just getting started. We’re always looking for new voices and would love to grow our Opinion section with perspectives from people across emerging tech, AI, crypto, and beyond.

Our first issue is better than I ever imagined, and I’m so grateful to everyone who trusted us enough to be part of it.

The media landscape is changing. Instead of being discouraged by that, I think it makes this an incredibly exciting time to experiment, collaborate, and build new things.
